Paris Air Show: Airbus scores at launch, silence at Boeing after crash

The US company Boeing has been struggling to overcome its largely self-inflicted crisis since 2019, which began with the crashes of two 737 Max jets. Problems in development, production, and suppliers, a near-miss, and a weeks-long strike have now resulted in six consecutive years of losses for the company. Since the beginning of 2024, Boeing has been prohibited from ramping up production of its most popular aircraft series at the behest of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The agency also took a closer look at the 787 "Dreamliner" wide-body jets.
Recently, things have been looking up for Boeing againRecently, new Boeing CEO Ortberg had steered production back into a somewhat calmer direction. After years of chronic delays, Boeing is now delivering its aircraft on time, John Plueger , head of aircraft financier Air Lease, recently told the Bloomberg news agency. Boeing also recently secured a major order from the Arab airline Qatar Airways.
