Red carpet rolled out for Oscars

This year, the red carpet at the Oscars is over 250 meters long, a good ten meters wide and covers a section of the otherwise busy Hollywood Boulevard. Dozens of camera teams and photographers followed the "roll out".

On Sunday, Oscar celebrities will walk along the entrance to the Dolby Theater, where the Oscars will be awarded for the 97th time (on Monday night CET). Until then, dozens of helpers will be busy on the famous catwalk. They are trimming edges and welding seams. The building complex in the heart of Hollywood can be seen from afar - thanks to a huge portrait of this year's Oscar host Conan O'Brien, who is hosting the gala for the first time. The US comedian's face, sprayed gold, shines on the facade. O'Brien himself helped to roll out the carpet. However, he doesn't have muscles like the professionals, joked the comedian. This year, too, a plastic roof will be stretched over the promenade as a precaution. Temperatures are expected to rise to 28 degrees Celsius this week, but a sudden change in the weather with rain and cold is expected on Oscar Sunday.
