The cheerful mood among four campers barbecuing threatens to collapse when one of the East Germans shouts at the West Germans: "You colonized us in 1990!" The play "In the East – Stories from the Special Zone" by the Triple A theater group in Potsdam explores this tipping point . Director and author Anja Panse wanted to give space to what she sees as an underrepresented perspective on the post-reunification period—that of the East Germans. We asked her what her play contains and how she sees it.
