Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel - Tirol

Kitzbühel (ots) - DP World Tour in Tyrol for the first time in 2026. Following its successful premiere in 2025 in SalzburgerLand at GC Altentann, where German Nicolai von Dellingshausen was the first winner, Austria's largest golf event is now moving on to Tyrol as planned. From May 28 to 31, 2026, the DP World Tour will stop at the tradition-rich Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course with the Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel - Tirol. Top players will already be getting ready for the prestigious tournament during the first training days starting May 25, 2026. Tyrolean golf youth will also be actively involved in the supporting program. At the Pro-Am tournament on May 27, 2026, the stars of European golf will open the event together with amateurs. Just in time for the big highlight, the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course will be at its best: With seven new tees that already whet the appetite for great tournament moments, as well as freshly remodeled bunker areas and an innovative practice facility, the golf course meets the high standards of the DP World Tour – and thus continues to offer green-fee guests and members an exceptional experience. With the return of the largest Austrian golf event to Austria, Kitzbühel impressively continues its claim to be the most legendary sports city in the Alps: In addition to the world-renowned Hahnenkamm Races, the tennis highlight – the Generali Open – and numerous other top events, international golf will now also be celebrated at the highest level in the heart of Tyrol. In Tyrol, more than 20 golf clubs – including 16 partner facilities of "Golf Tirol" – invite you to the most beautiful regions of the country. Well-maintained fairways in diverse alpine landscapes offer everything a golfer's heart desires: from gentle courses in the valley floor to challenging alpine courses stretching from the Arlberg and Zillertal to the Kitzbühel Alps and the Zugspitze. The Golf Tirol Card provides access to 16 first-class golf courses in the heart of the Alps. Whether relaxing 9-hole rounds in the valley or challenging 18-hole courses at altitude, with the card, golfers can enjoy the full diversity of Tyrol. Ben Cowen, Chief Tournament and Operations Officer of the DP World Tour: "We are delighted that the 2026 Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel - Tirol will return to the beautifully situated Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course. Many investors have long since turned their backs on the industry. But this could be precisely the opportunity now!
The combination of AI explosion and energy transition brings the industry back into the spotlight:
