DAX higher, gold remains strong: Oracle, SAP, BASF, Novo Nordisk, Commerzbank, HelloFresh in focus

The DAX slipped into the red during the day on Tuesday, closing down 0.4 percent at 23,718.45 points. However, Wednesday's start is likely to be more positive. Broker IG estimates the German leading index up 0.5 percent at 23,843 points on Wednesday morning.
On the futures side, things are relatively quiet midweek. This afternoon, US producer prices for August will be in focus. SAP competitor Oracle released its figures for the past quarter the evening before, after the US stock market closed. These were well received. The stock jumped more than 28 percent after hours. Novo Nordisk's shares, on the other hand, are likely to open with losses following a further forecast cut.
Investors should also continue to keep an eye on the previous day's winners and losers in the DAX. Sartorius, Deutsche Bank, and Siemens Energy were the strongest performers. BMW, Brenntag, and Commerzbank, on the other hand, were at the bottom of the DAX.
In addition, several analyst assessments are likely to be taken seriously. Citigroup has upgraded BASF to "Buy" with a price target of €52. Morgan Stanley, on the other hand, is becoming more pessimistic about HelloFresh. The stock has been downgraded to "Equal-weight" with a price target of €9.
The price of gold remains strong. A troy ounce of gold is trading at $3,644 on Wednesday morning. The price of silver also remains strong. A troy ounce currently costs $41.07. Bitcoin continues to trend sideways. One Bitcoin currently costs $111,596.
US stock markets gained slightly on Tuesday. The leading Dow Jones Industrial Index gained 0.4 percent to 45,711.34 points. The broad-based S&P 500 gained 0.3 percent to 6,512.61 points. And the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 recorded a gain of 0.3 percent to 23,839.80 points.
The major Asian markets are trading higher on Wednesday morning. The Japanese benchmark index, the Nikkei 225, is currently up 0.8 percent. The CSI 300, which tracks the most important mainland Chinese stocks, is up 0.4 percent. The Hang Seng Index in the Chinese special administrative region of Hong Kong is up 1.3 percent.
