Founding partner: Munich Private Equity mourns the loss of Horst Güdel

Horst Güdel passed away after a serious illness at the age of 71. The founding partner of RWB – Munich Private Equity Group since 2021 – shaped the company for over two decades.

The Munich Private Equity Group mourns the loss of Horst Güdel. He died on August 24, following a serious illness, at the age of 71. Güdel was one of the founders of the company in 1999, then still known as RWB. He led the group for over two decades together with co-founder Norman Lemke.
At the end of 2020, Güdel retired from the Executive Board due to age and assumed the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board, a position he held until 2023. Through his work, he contributed to developing private equity into an established investment vehicle for private investors in Germany and Austria.
"With Horst, we are losing a true pioneer, a long-time board colleague, and a friend," says Norman Lemke , co-founder and CEO of Munich Private Equity. Lemke adds: "His hands-on optimism, his positive attitude toward life, and his ability to inspire and excite people have had a lasting impact on me, our employees, and many of his colleagues, far beyond the company."
The Munich Private Equity Group mourns the loss of an outstanding entrepreneur and extends its thoughts to the deceased's family.
