Linda Yaccarino: Head of Musk’s Platform X leaves

Austin. The head of Elon Musk's online platform X is leaving her job after just over two years. Linda Yaccarino gave no reasons for her decision in the announcement on X. In recent years, she had consistently defended Musk's policy of loosening the guidelines for content at the former short message service Twitter. Musk had brought X, which previously operated as an independent company, under the umbrella of his AI company xAI in March. Even then, questions arose as to whether Yaccarino would remain at the helm under these circumstances.
Musk bought Twitter in October 2022 for around $45 billion and initially took over the leadership himself. In June 2023, he brought on board Yaccarino, who had previously headed the advertising business of media giant NBCUniversal. Musk continued to play a key role in determining the platform's direction.
X and xAI are currently under criticism because the chatbot Grok, developed by the AI company, attracted attention with anti-Semitic statements.
