Thomas Mühlhausen is the new Private Banking Board Member of Volksbank in East Westphalia. He succeeds Andreas Kämmerling, who has retired.

Kämmerling's Volksbank career began in 1979 with his apprenticeship as a bank clerk at the then cooperative bank Lendringsen.

Gold badge of honor after more than 15 years on the board

In 1991, after various interim positions, he started as a corporate customer advisor at Volksbank Bad Oeynhausen and was initially promoted to head of corporate customer consulting.

In 2007, Kämmerling was granted general power of attorney and was finally appointed to the board in 2009. In 2012, he became spokesman for the board.

During his time at Volksbank Bad Oeynhausen, Kämmerling oversaw several mergers, including in 2011 with Volksbank Enger-Spenge, in 2020 with Volksbank Mindener Land and in 2024 with Volksbank Bielefeld-Gütersloh to form today's Volksbank in Ostwestfalen.

For his services, Marija Kolak, President of the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks, awarded him the Gold Badge of Honor of the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Association.

Thomas Mühlhausen takes over responsibility for private banking

Michael Deitert will assume the position of CEO. In addition to Thomas Mühlhausen, the management team also includes Oliver Ohm and Peter Scherf.

Thomas Mühlhausen has been a member of the Board of Directors of Volksbank Bielefeld-Gütersloh since January 2021. In 2024, this bank merged with the former Volksbank Herford-Mindener-Land to form Volksbank in Ostwestfalen .

Previously, Mühlhausen worked for 14 years at Hannoversche Volksbank, among others.

Around 80 employees in Volksbank East Westphalia's Private Banking division manage three billion euros in assets under management in four regional centers. Stefan Semke has been Head of Private Banking for more than eleven years.

The merger has enabled Volksbank in East Westphalia to expand the private banking offerings of both partners , for example, in the portfolio area and generational management. Wealthy corporate clients are served jointly by a private banking advisor and a corporate client advisor.

Asset management services are provided by a subsidiary of Volksbank in East Westphalia, the independent asset manager Klarwert .
