Two new appointments: Universal Investment hires transformation chief and promotes manager

The Universal Investment Group is expanding its management team with two new managers. Jean-Philippe Talmon will assume the newly created position of Chief Transformation Officer on June 1, while Markus Bannwart will join the management team of the German fund services platform.
Talmon was most recently an Operating Partner at Montagu Private Equity, a shareholder of Universal Investment , and has experience at McKinsey & Company and as a manager at Capsugel. In his new role, he will report directly to Managing Director Francesca McDonagh and be responsible for the company's transformation.
Bannwart has been with Universal Investment for almost ten years and already heads the Alternative Investments & Structuring division. "The volume of alternative investments has increased more than twelvefold since 2014 and currently stands at approximately €120 billion. The entire spectrum of alternative investments has gained importance for our institutional clients," says Bannwart. His appointment to the Universal Investment management team is intended to underscore the importance of this product area.
Universal Investment managed 1.168 trillion euros by April – an increase of around 120 billion euros within a year.
