Woidke sets conditions for approval of coalition committee plans

Potsdam – Brandenburg's Minister-President Dietmar Woidke (SPD) is setting conditions for approval of the CDU/CSU and SPD plans from the coalition committee. "We will take a very close look at everything the federal government is doing in terms of fiscal policy," Woidke told the news magazine Politico (Friday edition). "The overall package will be decisive. This must stimulate the economy and must not place a one-sided burden on the states." Woidke said Brandenburg stands by the goal formulated in the coalition agreement of putting Germany back on a growth path and is prepared to actively support the associated changes: "We also expect fairness from the federal government regarding the distribution of costs and the rapid implementation of the planned relief for eastern German pensions."
