Having & Being: Live longer and have fun!

Having & Being: Live longer and have fun!

Director Wes Anderson's closeness to the traditional Hamburg-based company Montblanc has been on record for some time – last year, for example, Anderson donated a short film to the company to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the legendary Meisterstück fountain pen and also designed a kiosk in the typical Anderson style, in which the fine writing instrument went on tour through the cities. This year, a new Anderson film, "The Phoenician Masterstroke," is in cinemas, and Montblanc is repaying the director's affection with its own fountain pen called the "Schreiberling," which Anderson was allowed to design himself. The design was inspired by the legendary "Baby" fountain pens from the 1910s and 1920s from the Montblanc archive, which were among the smallest writing instruments of their time. With a bright green and yellow lacquer, platinum-plated fittings, and a coral-red Montblanc emblem, the writing instrument embodies the typical Anderson style; The limited edition of 1,969 pens marks the filmmaker's birth year. This fountain pen for enthusiasts comes in its own tin box, which, of course, is also exemplary in its retro design – a notebook, ruler, and green ink cartridges are also included. The price for this cinematic collector's item is €2,500.

Oil is the new gold in skincare. Many have switched to cleansing with oil, do gua sha massages with facial oil, and use oil instead of serum for radiant skin. And the secret to healthy, long hair that doesn't dangle on a teenager, but rather blows around the head of women over 40? Of course, hair oil. It's not a completely new discovery, but earlier versions made hair slightly greasy and heavy. The most popular version currently comes from Balmain , which, of course, doesn't call its line Hair Care like everyone else, but rather Hair Couture, which is entirely appropriate for this house. The brand's Elixir d'Argan is an organic argan oil enriched with minerals and is said to provide both moisture and softness. Some hairdressers even swear that it rejuvenates hair. But a little less straw effect is enough for most people to start with, especially in summer when hair is particularly stressed by salt and chlorinated water. At 52 euros, the elixir is almost as expensive as a haircut, but the bottles of the clear (not yellow!) liquid are constantly sold out because – as the hairdresser swears again – you can use it for at least half a year.

Drink healthy?

The topics of supplements and longevity are currently hot topics – there's hardly an influencer who doesn't discuss their morning nutrient intake, and hardly a holistic physician who doesn't recommend a combination of vitamins and nutrients designed to prolong a good life. Anyone who joins this trend will soon have lots of small pill bottles on their table, although they're often unsure whether they really work well together. Supplementation is said to be easier and more delicious with products from the German company Aspriva . The Heidelberg-based company's approach goes beyond individual nutritional supplements; instead, they have formulated powders that dissolve in water, each containing combinations of nutrients, vitamins, and preparations. In addition to combinations such as "Smile" for more serenity or "Sleep" for a better night's sleep, the range also includes a new combination called "Core" – a formula entirely focused on intestinal health. Well-being in this area is increasingly becoming the focus of longevity researchers. The small sachet contains, among other ingredients, spirulina and L-carnitine, which are said to boost antioxidant processes, digestion, and energy metabolism. It also contains reishi and frankincense extracts, a vitamin-mineral complex, coenzyme Q10, and curcumin. Does it help? Supposedly, the drink saves you from having to take 24 capsules, and that's certainly what it sounds like: gut, but sexy!
