Kate Middleton: The Princess of Wales is opting for this trendy shade of green for summer 2025.

Green is one of the undisputed trend colors for spring and summer 2025 – as VOGUE noted a few weeks ago. Partly responsible for this hype is the "Terra Futura" aesthetic, which combines environmental awareness with futuristic design. Whatever the origin of this year's preference for the color, rarely have shades of green been as versatile as they are in summer 2025. And so, alongside bottle green, pistachio green, and emerald green, olive green is also in fashion.

How elegant this rather reserved and muted shade of green looks has now been demonstrated by none other than Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales .

For the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design ceremony, presented to designer Patrick McDowell, the princess chose a suit by Victoria Beckham , which not only impressed with the aforementioned trendy olive green color, but also with its very elegant cut, featuring a classic blazer and extra-long, slightly flared trouser legs. Kate Middleton paired it with a white ruffled blouse, neutral pumps, and understated jewelry. A fantastic style for summer – the fit makes the look elegant and classic, while the color makes it fresh and effortlessly casual.

With the color choice of her suit, the princess demonstrated not only her sense of trends, but also her sensitivity for "diplomatic dressing" – after all, the designer McDowell was also honored for his commitment to sustainable practices, and green is, after all, associated with the environment.

"I am honored to receive this award from Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales and to join the ranks of esteemed colleagues as recipients," McDowell said of receiving the prestigious prize.

This isn't the first time the Princess of Wales has attended the ceremony, having previously presented the fashion award to Saul Nash in 2022. Other royals who have taken on this role include King Charles III (who presented the award to Labrum in 2023) and, of course, the late Queen Elizabeth II , who sat front row at Richard Quinn's 2018 London Fashion Week show to celebrate the award's first recipient.
