The President had announced his intention to sign the law into law by the national holiday on July 4. The signing ceremony is now scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (local time; 9:00 p.m. CEST) at the White House on Friday.
Narrow majorityThe U.S. Congress finally approved the controversial tax bill on Thursday, handing Trump the biggest parliamentary victory of his second term so far. In the House of Representatives, 218 members voted for the bill during its second reading, while 214 voted against. The Senate had already narrowly approved it. Trump had pressured Congress for weeks to approve the bill by Independence Day.
