Deloitte survey: More and more German companies want to invest at home, not in the USA, because of Donald Trump

At the same time, the proportion of those who see North America as their main investment focus is declining, from 25 to 19 percent. This trend is most evident among export-oriented companies.
Only 38 percent see a focus on North America, while 62 percent see Germany as their primary focus. Investment plans in Asia are also declining.
USA no longer a reliable partner"Geopolitical and trade policy issues are increasingly dominating markets and thus the prospects of companies," said Deloitte Chief Economist Alexander Börsch . "Building resilience and effectively managing geopolitical risks are therefore becoming crucial success factors." Spending on digital transformation and resilience are prioritized by 49 and 34 percent of chief financial officers (CFOs), respectively. In contrast, one in five respondents would like to spend less on expanding production capacity. In the automotive industry, this affects every second company, and in mechanical engineering, almost one in four.
