EU and Ukraine conclude talks on free trade agreement

They were concerned about the exemptions the EU had introduced to support Ukrainian agriculture. The EU had exempted Ukrainian goods from import tariffs in February 2022, around 100 days after the start of the Russian war of aggression. Ukraine has a comparatively large agricultural sector, which accounted for more than 7 percent of economic output in 2023. By comparison, in Germany , it is less than 1 percent.
