For weeks, Russia has intensified its air strikes on Ukraine.

According to media reports, Russia has again attacked regions in western Ukraine overnight. Locations far from the front line were attacked with drones and missiles, wrote "The Kyiv Independent." Citing its own reporters, it said explosions were heard in the western cities of Lviv and Chernivtsi. The public broadcaster Suspline also reported an explosion in the city of Lutsk. As "The Kyiv Independent" further reported, the air force had warned of ballistic missiles and drones from Russia aimed westward. Citing official sources, drones were also approaching the regions of Ternopil and Volhynia during the night, the portal reported.
The RBK-Ukraine news agency reported that an air raid siren had been triggered in Volhynia. Authorities urged residents to stay in shelters, it added. A fire broke out in a building in Lviv as a result of the attacks, the mayor said.
Citing the Polish Air Force, The Kyiv Independent reported that the neighboring country was deploying fighter jets to protect its own airspace.
