The United States is Israel's most important ally. However, according to President Trump, the US military is staying out of the attacks on Iran. He is verbally involved, however, urging Tehran to reach an agreement—and threatening.
According to US President Donald Trump, the US military was not involved in Israel's nighttime attacks in Iran. "The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran tonight," Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform. At the same time, he warned the Islamic Republic's leadership against attacks on US facilities. If the US were attacked in any way by Iran, US forces would strike on an unprecedented scale. Trump also reiterated his call for Iran to conclude an agreement regarding its nuclear program.
"However, we can easily reach an agreement between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict!!!" Trump wrote. The US is Israel's most important ally and maintains bases in the region, including in Qatar and Bahrain, where around 40,000 troops are reportedly stationed.
Uranium enrichment plant in Fordow as a neuralgic targetIsrael has asked the Trump administration to join the war against Iran in the past 48 hours, the US news site Axios reported, citing two Israeli officials. Israel wants to use the attacks to prevent Iran from building a nuclear bomb.
However, according to the report, Israel does not have the so-called bunker-busting bombs and large bombers needed to destroy the Iranian uranium enrichment facility in Fordow, located deep in a mountain about 100 kilometers southwest of the Iranian capital Tehran.
The US, however, has both these heavy bombs and the necessary bombers within flying distance of Iran, the US news site reported. If Fordo remains in operation after the end of the major attacks, Israel will have failed in its goal of "eliminating" Iran's nuclear program, Axios wrote.
Iran had threatened Israel's allies with attacks. Countries participating in the defense against Iranian attacks should expect attacks themselves, Iranian media reported. Regional military bases and ships in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea were mentioned as possible targets.
