Mönchengladbach- BAB 61 direction Venlo, 17.05.2025, 17:35, - On Saturday afternoon, around 17:35, the Mönchengladbach fire department was alerted to a traffic accident on the A61 in the direction of Venlo.

Fire Department MG: Traffic accident on the A61 motorway. Shortly before the Mönchengladbach motorway junction, two cars were involved in a rear-end collision. Upon arrival, emergency services found a total of four vehicles parked in the right lane and on the hard shoulder.
All vehicle occupants had already left their vehicles independently before the fire department arrived. The fire department secured the scene and cleaned up any leaking fuel from the vehicles.
Two people, including a child, were examined by paramedics and transported to hospitals for further medical evaluation. No further action by the fire department was required.
During the operation, there were significant traffic disruptions in the area of the Mönchengladbach motorway junction.
The rescue train from Fire and Rescue Station II (Holt), a rescue vehicle from the Technology and Logistics Center (Holt), the Hardt unit of the volunteer fire department, two ambulances, an emergency medical vehicle and the command service of the professional fire department were on duty.
