The fighting between Iran and Israel continues unabated. In several overnight attacks, the Israeli military successfully strikes key Iranian weapons production facilities. Tehran responds accordingly.
In recent airstrikes in Iran, the Israeli military reportedly hit a centrifuge production facility and several weapons factories overnight. The army has not yet provided details on the extent of the damage in the Tehran area. More than 50 fighter jets were deployed, it said.
According to Israeli sources, the targeted centrifuge manufacturing facility in Tehran was intended to allow the Iranian leadership to expand the scope and speed of its uranium enrichment for the development of nuclear weapons. Other targets included a facility producing raw materials and components for the assembly of surface-to-surface missiles, which are already being used against Israel. Sites producing parts for surface-to-air missiles were also targeted.
Israel sees its very existence threatened by Iran's nuclear program, which is also the reason for the major attack that has been ongoing since Friday. Tehran denies any efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. Both countries continued their attacks overnight. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard—the elite military force of the Islamic Republic—fired two rocket salvos at the Jewish state within less than an hour.
