After European Championship exit against Germany, NBA star Doncic rants at referee
The superstar's frustration runs deep. Luka Doncic quickly found the culprits for the loss against Germany.
The NBA pro from the Los Angeles Lakers was particularly upset about receiving a technical foul for complaining after just two minutes. "If you don't even get a warning, then I don't know. It's a quarterfinal, we're fighting for a spot in the semifinals, so I really don't understand."
Doncic had already accumulated four fouls at the start of the third quarter , putting him on the brink of being disqualified. "Something like that has never happened to me in my entire career," said the exceptional player, who finished with an outstanding 39 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. However, Doncic was also fortunate in several situations when fouls were called against his opponents, even though no violations had actually occurred.
Slovenia coach Aleksander Sekulic nevertheless understood his superstar's frustration. "My boys can go home with their heads held high. Not everyone on the court can say that today," the coach told the referees. And Slovenia center Alen Omic added tellingly: "We couldn't win this game today."
