Bundesliga: Mönchengladbach punishes Neuhaus for explosive video

Borussia Mönchengladbach has imposed a heavy fine on midfielder Florian Neuhaus because of a video circulating on social networks containing explosive statements.
In addition, the 28-year-old midfielder will not train with the Bundesliga team for the next four weeks, but with Borussia's U23 team, the club announced. The club did not disclose the amount of the fine.
"Florian Neuhaus's behavior and statements are damaging to the club and unacceptable. He has harmed the club with his words and deeply disappointed those involved. This is incompatible with the club's values," said Borussia's managing director Stefan Stegemann, according to a club statement.
Mocking statements and words about millionaire salariesThe 28-year-old professional footballer is initially not seen in the short clip, but a voice can be heard making derisive remarks about sporting director Roland Virkus. It is unclear whether the voice can be attributed to Neuhaus. Shortly afterward, a man who looks like the former national team player enters the frame and appears to be discussing a million-dollar salary. The incident reportedly took place on the Balearic island of Mallorca.
Coach Gerardo Seoane's team is expected at Borussia Park on Friday for their first performance test in preparation for the new Bundesliga season. Neuhaus's contract with Mönchengladbach runs until June 30, 2027. He has not yet commented on the incident.
