Defeat against PSG: Messi's Miami fails at the Club World Cup

Lionel Messi's Inter Miami was eliminated from the Club World Cup in the round of 16 against Paris St. Germain. The US team lost 4-0 to the Champions League winners from the French capital.
It quickly became clear in the first half who would leave the pitch as the winner. João Neves put PSG in the lead after just six minutes. It was also the Portuguese who initiated a storm and stress phase for his team shortly before halftime.
Neves scored his second goal (39th minute), Tomas Avilés scored an own goal (44th minute), and former Dortmund player Achraf Hakimi (45th + 3rd minute) all put the game in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta within minutes. Miami, which started alongside world star Lionel Messi and former Barcelona players Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, had no answer to the Parisian star ensemble.
In the second half, the French controlled the game, with coach Luis Enrique bringing on Ousmane Dembélé just over an hour into the game. Miami, coached by Javier Mascherano, tried to limit the damage, but the underdogs were unable to score. The match ended much like the first half.
While the tournament is now over for Miami and crowd-pulling Messi, PSG will face the winner of the Bayern Munich vs. Flamengo match next Saturday (6 p.m. German time). The Brazilians and the German record champions will face off on Sunday evening at 10 p.m.
While club legend Thomas Müller hopes that the match against Flamengo will not be his last in a Bayern jersey, it is already clear that Leroy Sané will not make any further appearances for Munich after Sunday evening.
"He sat on the pitch for a long time after training," Bayern coach Vincent Kompany reported on Saturday evening (local time) at the Hard Rock Stadium. The Munich team had trained at their base camp in Orlando that morning.
Sané's contract ends on Monday. After five years in Munich, he will move from the Bundesliga to Turkey, joining Champions League participant Galatasaray Istanbul, on a free transfer.
