Nick Woltemade: Stuttgart likely to demand huge transfer fee from FC Bayern

Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart is apparently demanding a transfer fee of €100 million for Nick Woltemade, after media speculation this week about the striker reaching an agreement with record champions FC Bayern Munich. According to Kicker, the Swabian club's management would only be willing to "even sit down at the negotiating table" for this sum. The Stuttgarter Zeitung and Stuttgarter Nachrichten also report on the three-digit million figure.

Shortly before the U21 national team's final against England in Bratislava on Saturday evening (2:3 after extra time), media reports indicated that Bayern Munich were keen to sign the striker. Woltemade could also consider a move after a strong season. However, the Munich team is said to have calculated a transfer fee of only €50 million.

Before the European Championship final, the almost two-meter-tall attacker simply said of the transfer rumors: "There are always things going on around you, and that doesn't just affect me, but other players as well."

Woltemade joined VfB Stuttgart from Werder Bremen during last summer's transfer window. The 23-year-old was initially left out of the Champions League squad, but subsequently turned heads, scoring 17 goals and providing three assists in 33 competitive matches. He is under contract with Stuttgart until June 2028 with no release clause. He has also recently been called up to the senior national team.
