Schüller on the second floor! Bayern pulls ahead of Bremen thanks to a header

In the DFB Cup final in Cologne, the women's soccer team from Werder Bremen will face FC Bayern Munich as underdogs. Juliane Wirtz is holding out hope for victory. Follow the match live.
1-0 Schüller (6th), 2-0 Simon (30th), 2-1 Dieckmann (45th+1), 3-1 Schüller (65th)
Bayern Munich: Mahmutovic - Gwinn, Viggosdottir, Eriksson, Simon - Lohmann, Zadrazil - Harder, Damnjanovic, Bühl - Schüller Werder Bremen: Peng - Penner, Nemeth, Ronan - T. Mahmoud, Dieckmann, Hausicke, Walkling, Wichmann - Mühlhaus, Weidauer
65th minute: GOAL for FC Bayern! Schüller seemingly seals the deal. After a cross from the left, the striker rises high and heads the ball into the corner, leaving Peng unable to save.
62nd minute: Bayern miss the chance! Schüller is sent on the right and is just barely offside. She carefully lays the ball off to Harder, who runs alongside her, who shoots but is denied by Peng's next save. Bühl fires the rebound into Nemeth's face, and referee Kost immediately interrupts play.
60th minute: Mühlhaus takes a risk! She attempts a bicycle kick to convert a cross from the right, but misses the ball and instead hits Bayern's Gwinn. She remains dazed. Mühlhaus receives a yellow card, and Gwinn continues after brief treatment. That made quite a noise.
57th minute: Only Bayern have come out of the locker room with momentum so far. Wichmann tries a shot down the left, but the ball clearly slips out of her reach.
54th minute: Bühl, that's great! But Bremen captain Hausicke intervenes at the last moment, and Bühl's attempt sails over. The resulting corner also causes chaos, but Peng has the ball safely in his grasp after some ping-pong.
50th minute: Viggosdottir nails Mühlhaus and receives a yellow card. The Bremen striker does well, but she also takes a beating.
48th minute: Mühlhaus remains down after colliding with Gwinn. It was a knee-to-knee collision. But Bremen's best attacker grits her teeth and carries on.
46th minute: Let's continue!
45th +3 minute: Bühl has another chance, but her shot goes wide to the left. Then it's halftime. Bayern are on course, but the game isn't over yet – partly because Bremen scores at exactly the right time!
45+1 minute: GOAL for Bremen! What a powerful counterattack! Hahmoud breaks through on the right, but no one is following her. The winger waits patiently, then sees Dieckmann and cuts it into the middle. Dieckmann runs onto the ball and fires it into the bottom left corner with his right foot, leaving Mahmutovic unable to save. The underdog is back!
44th minute: The following corner sails through everyone, but Harder fires it back in. No Bayern player can get to the near post, and Bremen struggles to clear.
43rd minute: Bang! Lohmann's header after the next powerful free kick cross is well saved by the Bremen goalkeeper.
40th minute: Bremen started boldly and remained bold – but coach Thomas Horsch's women weren't rewarded. Bayern scored somewhat luckily with their first chance, then grew stronger and added another with a stunning attack. Bremen, meanwhile, couldn't capitalize on a mistake by Bayern's goalkeeper.

36th minute: Simon is tunneled by Mahmoud, then trips her and rightly receives a yellow card.
34th minute: Now Penner can't continue! The 18-year-old has to leave due to injury and makes way for Schmidt. She appears to be suffering from a knee injury.
32nd minute: Bremen continues to attack boldly! Mahmoud beats Simon on the right, but Eriksson clears in the middle.
30th minute: GOAL for Bayern! That's simply a great play. Simon initiates the attack and lays the ball down the line to Damjanovic, who finds Bühl. The German international keeps her head up, passes it back to Simon, who runs through, and she nails the ball into the net with her left foot, leaving Peng unstoppable.
25th minute: The 18-year-old Penner is lying on the ground, the Bremen native in pain. But after a brief treatment, she's able to continue.
23rd minute: On the other side, Bühl flicks a ball towards the right corner of the goal - only centimeters away.
21st minute: Weidauer! The Bremen player pushes through on the left and shoots powerfully - Mahmutovic is on the spot.
16th minute: Schüller is through on the left, and no one can stop her. Alone in front of Peng, the national striker loses her nerve and is denied by the Swiss goalkeeper.
14th minute: Excitement in front of the Bayern penalty area. Bremen's Mühlhaus is clearly fouled, but Bayern are awarded the free kick – why is unclear. For the first time, referee Annika Kost causes confusion.
13th minute: This has to be 2-0! Simon's free-kick cross from the left lands at Eriksson, who was completely forgotten. But she seems surprised herself and doesn't make the most of the opportunity.

11th minute: Bremen come back! Mühlhaus hits back again, but the first shot is blocked, before the second is safely put through for Mahmutovic. The underdog is by no means shocked.
9th minute: What a mistake by Bayern goalkeeper Mahmutovic! A harmless cross rolls through her hands, but Viggosdottir is alert, blocks Bremen's Mühlhaus, and prevents anything worse from happening until her goalkeeper can pick up the ball.
6th minute: GOOOAAAL for FC Bayern! Gewinn's attempted cross rebounds off the corner, and Schüller heads the second ball into the net.
4th minute: Lohmann has the first argument with the referee – why, only she knows. After the clear handball, a free kick is awarded – and Bremen demands a penalty. Schüller did touch the ball with his hand, but also with his head beforehand. All correct.
2nd minute: Bayern immediately apply pressure, but Bremen's defense holds. A first long ball on the left sails well out of bounds. And the Werder fans immediately go wild with green fireworks, illegally of course.
1st minute: Here we go! Bremen in black from left to right against Bayern in their usual red.
3:50 p.m.: At Bayern, coach Alexander Straus, who will ultimately leave the club like his counterpart at Bremen, is planning the perfect farewell. After last weekend's championship, the team aims to win the double. He's relying on numerous international players – FCB is the clear favorite.
3:40 p.m.: Bremen coach Thomas Horsch is fielding a starting eleven without Julian Wirtz. The returning player will initially sit on the bench. Livia Peng is the main focus at the back – the Swiss goalkeeper will need to have a great day if Bremen hopes to lift the trophy.
SV Werder Bremen are high on hopes of a cup upset against the Bayern Munich women's team. "We've been getting closer and closer. We've had close games against these teams before, and that's given us the confidence we have in our chances," explained SVW coach Thomas Horsch ahead of today's final (4:00 p.m./ARD and Sky) in Cologne against the favored German champions . The Munich women have won all 18 of their previous competitive matches, although their most recent league clash was only 1-0.
"Of course, we want to seize this unique opportunity," Horsch said, although the roles are clearly defined. "We know that there are world-class players there, that this is an international team. But yes, you have to seize moments in a game like this." Other teams in the league also had their chances against the Munich team coached by Alexander Straus: "And in the end, none of them stood a chance."
Werder captain Lina Hausicke is still hoping for a small miracle. The 27-year-old said the team has "unbelievable faith in our game plan." Ambition is high among all the players: "We can finally win something really big now." In the Bundesliga, the Green-Whites are in seventh place, well below the European rankings.
The Bremen team is confident that Juliane Wirtz and Sharon Beck are fit to play again. "Both have quality. And experience, which can certainly help us in games like this, in any game," said Hausicke. Wirtz, sister of Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz , who is apparently on the verge of a transfer , has "uncanny composure on the ball. And that helps us in many situations," said Horsch, who will leave the club after the season for an as-yet-unknown destination.
The 56-year-old is looking forward to a nice farewell in Bremen. "Whether we win or lose, we'll definitely go to the town hall and be welcomed there. And ideally, of course, we'll bring the trophy with us."
