Shortly before the race in Spielberg, an advertising bridge collapses onto the track
A few hours before the Austrian Grand Prix, emergency services are at the Red Bull Ring. The reason: a metal structure collapses onto the asphalt.
A tow truck struck a metal advertising bridge at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg before the Formula 1 race in Austria. The structure subsequently crashed to the ground. According to the Austrian news agency APA, the accident occurred after the first corner of the Formula 2 race on Sunday morning.
According to the fire department, there were no injuries. Emergency crews were on site just hours before the eleventh Formula 1 race of the season in Styria to remove the debris as quickly as possible.
Images showed, among other things, that a tractor and a truck were at the affected location. The start of the Porsche Supercup had to be temporarily postponed. The Formula 1 race begins at 3:00 p.m.
