This is reported by the WAZ and other media outlets, among others. According to reports, Schalke has activated a clause in Muslic's contract with English second-division club Plymouth Argyle. Kicker's research also points in this direction. However, official confirmation from the clubs is still pending.
However, Muslic's current employer published a statement on its website late Wednesday evening. According to the statement, the Championship club announced that Muslic is in talks with a German second-division club. Muslic had previously expressed his desire to transfer to PAFC management and announced that he did not want to return to England.

Sandro Wagner takes over as coach of FC Augsburg. Kicker reporter Mario Krischel explains what kind of football Julian Nagelsmann's current assistant coach represents and why his appointment represents both an opportunity and a risk. Also: Bayer Leverkusen and Erik ten Hag - are they a good fit?
Plymouth, which seemed annoyed, didn't name a specific name in its official statement. However, Schalke has now won the race. 1. FC Köln and Hannover 96 are also said to have had Muslic on their radar.
The Bosnian-born player grew up in Austria and played in the Bundesliga for SV Ried. He began his coaching career at the Upper Austrian club. In 2021, he ventured abroad and took over at Cercle Brugge in Belgium. He then led a young team to qualification for the Europa Conference League.
The following season, however, things didn't go so well, and Muslic was forced to step down. He succeeded Wayne Rooney at Plymouth in January 2025, but was unable to prevent the club's relegation to League One. He and his team averaged 1.26 points in 23 games.
Plymouth approves talks only "reluctantly"Muslic is considered a promoter of talent, and Plymouth also fielded a young-on-average team. When he took office at the beginning of the year, Muslic signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the British port city, running until June 2028. This was one of the reasons why Plymouth reacted angrily to the impending separation.
Approval for the talks was granted "reluctantly." Furthermore, Plymouth officials expressed their incomprehension that Muslic had previously publicly committed to Argyle on several occasions. Quotes such as "We are frustrated by this decision" and "Miron has committed to Argyle and pledged to do everything he can to help the club bounce back next season" can be found in the official statement from Wednesday. Furthermore, several new signings have already been made. But now, Muslic is leaving.
The Royal Blues are coming off a disappointing second-division season . Starting with high ambitions, Schalke languished just above the relegation zone for most of the season, wearing out two head coaches in the process: Karel Geraerts and Kees van Wonderen. At the end of the season, Jakob Frimpel was forced to step in once again. Muslic is now tasked with leading Schalke back to success.
