Alexander Zverev is confidently heading into Wimbledon. How good is the 28-year-old on grass now – and can he seriously challenge for the tournament title for the first time?

Anyone who has won seven times and reached the final ten times is always among the favorites. Novak Djokovic is aiming to equal the grass-court king Roger Federer with his eighth title. However, the 38-year-old Serb recently lost two consecutive finals to Carlos Alcaraz , who won the French Open and the preparation tournament in Queen's. World number one Jannik Sinner is also among the favorites, despite his round of 16 loss in Halle (Westphalia).

For the women, a prediction is difficult. Based on this year's results, world number one Aryna Sabalenka must be mentioned. The Belarusian has reached the finals of each of the last three Grand Slam tournaments, although she lost both in 2025. She reached the semifinals at Wimbledon twice. There have been eight different winners in London recently. In the major preparatory tournaments, Tatjana Maria won at Queen's , and Marketa Vondrousova , the 2023 Wimbledon champion, won in Berlin .

Tatjana Maria, mother of two daughters, won the biggest title of her career in London at the age of 37. A woman who proves that success is possible even with an individual lifestyle.
