VfB envisage 100 million for Woltemade

Now things are getting serious between Stuttgart and Bayern
Anyone who thought FC Bayern would be able to pry Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart so easily is mistaken. Initial contact has been made, and the Swabians' transfer demand is immense. VfB is considering a three-digit million euro fee.

This will be an exciting chapter in this summer's transfer window: Nick Woltemade wants to join FC Bayern, and the Munich club want him. Meanwhile, there have reportedly been initial discussions between the two clubs, and, according to kicker, initial price expectations were exchanged. The newly crowned cup winner is considering a transfer fee in the hundreds of millions of euros just to sit down at the negotiating table.
The transfer ideas are worlds apartThe facts are clear: Woltemade is only 23 years old, has a three-year contract until the end of June 2028, and no release clause. He's currently undergoing a tremendous development phase, aiming to win the European Championship with the German U-21 national team this evening (9 p.m.) against England – and Stuttgart would like to keep him. This is likely to make negotiations very tough and lengthy. Bayern bosses had previously expected a fee of around €50 million. This means that the two southern rivals' expectations are worlds apart.

Nick Woltemade has agreed to a partnership with FC Bayern. What does his employer, VfB Stuttgart, have to say about this? What do we make of Juventus' interest in three VfB regulars, and what are the expectations for U-17 World Cup winner Noah Darvich? We discuss all of this with VfB expert George Moissidis.
Talks between the clubs have begun gently and are slowly intensifying. At the latest, according to FC Bayern, by Tuesday, when the transfer window officially opens—and coach Vincent Kompany's team has completed its Club World Cup round of 16 match against Flamengo (Sunday, 10 p.m. German time).
With Woltemade, Kompany would face a tactical debateAfter Bayern recently received several rejections in their search for an attacking player (Florian Wirtz, Nico Williams - Bradley Barcola is most likely not for sale, Eberl is said to continue pursuing Gittens), Woltemade could now become Bayern's top signing of the summer. If that turns out to be the case, a debate about the system and tactics in Munich would be inevitable.
While coach Kompany didn't have a convincing plan for a central player under Wirtz, given that Jamal Musiala is also in the team, something would have to change now. Woltemade is highly valued by FCB officials precisely because of his flexibility – whether as a backup for Harry Kane or as a replacement for the soon-to-be-departed Thomas Müller. Woltemade, however, is not a winger. And Bayern almost certainly won't spend more than €50 or €60 million on a professional player just to use him as a substitute. It will be an exciting chapter in the future.
