Victory against ManCity: Glasner wins the FA Cup with Crystal Palace

Coach Oliver Glasner and Crystal Palace have won the English FA Cup. The Premier League club from south London secured a surprise 1-0 victory over Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's early favorites thus squandered their last chance of a title this season.
Eze Eberechi scored for Crystal Palace in the 16th minute. However, goalkeeper Dean Henderson emerged as the hero of the match, saving a penalty from former Frankfurt player Omar Marmoush in the 36th minute and making numerous other saves to devastate City. Erling Haaland had let Marmoush take the lead from the penalty spot.
Although Manchester City dominated the game from the start, they created few good chances and were generally too harmless. Palace relied on a strong defense and quick counterattacks.
A seemingly second goal by Daniel Munoz had Palace fans at London's Wembley Stadium celebrating again just under the hour mark, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review. However, the Londoners survived the ten minutes of stoppage time with some difficulty and thanks to Henderson.
Manchester City, currently sixth in the Premier League, are without a title at the end of the season for the first time since Guardiola's inaugural 2016/2017 campaign. For Crystal Palace, however, it's not only their first cup win, but also the greatest success in their club's history. The 12th-placed side have also qualified for the Europa League.
Crystal Palace reached the FA Cup final in 1990 and 2016, losing both times to City's local rivals Manchester United. Austrian Oliver Glasner, who won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2012, had previously won the cup twice in his home country with SV Ried.
