A few weeks ago, the Mallorca newspaper reported that taxi fraud is taking place on a massive scale at Ballermann. Reporters disguised themselves as party tourists and went in search of taxi scammers. But the situation escalated.

Reporters from unfolded.media have exclusively captured the taxi drivers' scam at Ballermann on camera for the first time. However, when their investigation is discovered, several taxi drivers follow the reporters—and even attack them.

But almost all of the drivers are cheating: The first one demands a flat rate of €15 – even though this is prohibited by law. Another starts the trip with an absurd starting surcharge of €5.80. Several drivers press a hidden button on the taximeter shortly before arrival – and the surcharge suddenly jumps to €9.99.

In one case, they even charged 16 euros for the short trip. Upon request, only incorrect receipts were issued.

The reporting team recorded all the trips, all the fraud attempts – and the manipulation of the taximeter – with a hidden camera.

As filming continues at Megapark , word apparently spreads among the drivers that journalists are on the road. Suddenly, the crew is repeatedly insulted from moving taxis – calling them "sons of bitches" and "bastards." Then things get serious.

Three taxis suddenly pursue the team, driving close behind them, overtaking aggressively, and then blocking the road directly in front of the vehicle. The drivers get out and initially film with their cell phones.

One of the men screams, another runs straight toward the cameraman—and punches him in the face with full force. More punches follow. The crew tries to retreat, but the attackers run after him—and strike again. Everything is captured on video.

Only when the reporters call the police do the men let go and flee.
