'Calleja in space', the latest project by Paolo Vasile, leads the afternoon show on the new Telecinco

Madrid - CET
The Calleja special in space achieved this Tuesday a share of the screen in the afternoon on Telecinco that is typical of the times of Sálvame. Its knock-on effect significantly improved the rest of the afternoon on the channel. The programme starring Jesús Calleja and presented by María Casado and Carlos Franganillo obtained a 16% share of the screen, double what TardeAR had achieved the previous day in a similar time slot, and attracted an average of 1.5 million viewers.
The moment when the adventurer from León, one of the star faces of Mediaset, took off aboard the New Shepard rocket capsule of the space company Blue Origin shot up to 19.5% of the screen share and 1.7 million viewers, according to reports from Dos30′ and Barlovento Comunicación based on data collected by the consultancy Kantar Media.
Such was the knock-on effect of this live connection that TardeAR rose to 11.9% and El diario de Jorge took an unprecedented audience share in its history: 10.2%. Although Telecinco managed to attract the audience for one afternoon, the competition's figures did not vary drastically with respect to previous days and Telecinco once again settled for third place in the ranking of the most watched channels of the day.
La 1 managed to be the most watched option thanks to the nightly broadcast of La Copa del Rey football match (14% average audience share throughout Tuesday), with Antena 3 coming in very close to its figures (13.6%). Both channels were well ahead of Telecinco (10.4%), although this time the Mediaset channel managed to at least surpass the undigit in its daily tally.
Telecinco had decided to swap the times of its two afternoon magazines, placing TardeAR ahead of El diario de Jorge as of this past Monday, February 25. The network was thus looking to improve its data in the afternoon and in the evening. The change was not noticeable in the case of Jorge Javier Vázquez's program on its first day of broadcast and it also worsened TardeAR 's data by bringing forward its time. Calleja's special on the show has boosted both, but it remains to be seen how they behave after the programming changes throughout the week.
