'Maybe they should pay a visit': US ambassador to Israel suggests bombing Yemen like Iran
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee suggested Tuesday that American B-2 bombers "might have to visit Yemen," after Israel intercepted a missile launched by Houthi rebels from Yemeni territory.
"We thought there were no more missiles in Israel, but the Houthis just launched one at us. Luckily, Israel's incredible interception system allows us to take cover and wait for the all clear," Huckabee wrote on his X account.
"Maybe those B-2 bombers will have to pay a visit to Yemen!" he added.

Huckabee's mention of B-2 bombers refers to the recent "Midnight Hammer" operation conducted by the United States between June 20 and 21, in which more than 125 aircraft, including seven B-2s carrying 13-ton bunker-buster bombs, attacked nuclear facilities in Iran.
For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz also compared the Houthi threat to that of Iran today.
"After defeating the snake in Tehran, we will also defeat the Houthis in Yemen. Whoever raises their hand against Israel will have their hand cut off ," the minister warned in a statement about Iran's allies, which include the Houthis, Hamas, and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

It's worth recalling that the Yemeni Houthi rebel government in Sana'a expressed its "full support" for Iran following the US attack on Iran's nuclear program and reaffirmed its armed forces' commitment "to be ready to attack US ships and warships in the Red Sea."
"The Houthi government of Yemen strongly condemns the blatant and barbaric US aggression against Iran," the Houthi government said in a statement, calling the Trump administration "reckless" for bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities.
"It does not constitute a simple violation of sovereignty," but rather a "blatant declaration of war against the brotherly Iranian people," the insurgents added.

The statement said these attacks confirm that the U.S. "is the official sponsor of terrorism for the Zionist entity (Israel) and, in collaboration with it, continues its efforts to violate our region, control our destiny, and keep our nation in a state of weakness."
They also declared their full support for the brotherly Iranian people and their confidence in the ability of Iran, its leaders, and its people to confront US and Israeli aggression and resist challenges.
The Houthi government reaffirmed Yemen's commitment to the Houthi armed forces' declaration of readiness to attack US ships and warships in the Red Sea.

They affirmed that they will do so "in defense of their nation and to protect national security," adding that they "continue their support for Palestine and that Yemen will support any Arab or Muslim country subjected to Zionist or American aggression."
Prior to the US attacks on Iran, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea threatened to attack ships and warships if the US "engages in an attack and aggression against Iran."
The US and the Houthis, with Oman's mediation, reached a ceasefire agreement on May 6, limited to operations in the Red Sea, halting missile and drone attacks by the Yemeni militia. This agreement came after weeks of intense US bombing of the group's positions.
