Benjamin Netanyahu orders an urgent plan to curb Hamas's control of aid in Gaza.

Benjamin Netanyahu orders an urgent plan to curb Hamas's control of aid in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave the army 48 hours to develop a new humanitarian aid plan for Gaza at midnight Wednesday, saying Hamas was "retaking control of aid entering the northern Gaza Strip."
"The Prime Minister and Defense Minister (Israel Katz) ordered the Israel Defense Forces to submit within 48 hours an action plan to prevent Hamas from taking control of the aid ," the statement released by Netanyahu's office said.

The note gives two days (until midnight Friday to Saturday) to address the entry of aid into northern Gaza. There, the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF), supported by Israel and the United States, has not established any aid distribution points , so residents try to stop UN trucks on the roads to collect the food they carry.
Both GHF points in central and southern Gaza and routes in the north of the enclave (such as the Zikim area, bordering Gaza City and the southernmost part of the Strip) have become hotbeds of Gazan killings in the past month.
Some 550 people have been reported dead in Gaza.
The Gaza Health Ministry, part of the Hamas government, has so far recorded the deaths of approximately 550 people due to Israeli army fire , which occurs in the vicinity of GHF points or aid trucks every day. In addition, more than 4,000 people have been injured since this distribution model began a month ago.
On previous occasions, UN agencies such as UNICEF and the Agency for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) have insisted in conversations with EFE that those attacking trucks carrying starving civilians are the ones who attacked them, since Israel completely blocked access to aid (mainly food, medicine, and fuel) to Gaza for more than two months between March and May.
Asked by EFE about these shootings, the Israeli army blamed Hamas, noting that it prevents the population from accessing aid and asserting that "they even act under the protection of the civilian population in an attempt to harm the armed forces."

"The Army allows the US civilian organization (GHF) to distribute aid to Gaza residents independently, and they operate in the vicinity of the new distribution areas to allow for distribution alongside the continuation of the armed forces' operational activities in the Gaza Strip," the military statement sent to EFE said.
The US-based civilian organization encompasses private security companies such as Safe Research Solutions, run by a former CIA agent, and UG Solutions, staffed by US military veterans, whom some progressive Israeli media outlets refer to as mercenaries.
