Cancun bar raided: drug and human trafficking investigated

CANCÚN.- Federal and Quintana Roo authorities raided a bar early Saturday morning on suspicion of drug and human trafficking.
The operation was carried out at the 'SR' bar , located on Oaxactun Avenue , in superblock 95.
According to the Meganews report, the deployment mobilized elements of the State Police , Navy , Army and National Guard .
Federal and state agents arrived at the site in heavily armed, official vehicles, after which the site was secured for several hours.
According to sources, the operation was the result of a formal complaint for crimes related to drug dealing and the exploitation of women, which led to the opening of an investigation file.
It is believed that possible illegal substances were found during the search, as well as several women, alleged victims of human trafficking .
However, authorities have not revealed official details of the case.
The deployment has once again raised concerns about illegal activities occurring in some nightclubs in Cancun and other tourist areas of Quintana Roo .
Authorities continue working to clarify the facts.
In another unrelated incident this week in Cancun, a woman was run over by a Mexican Army patrol car and hospitalized.
Last Thursday, the woman was riding her motorcycle on Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue – a busy road – when she was struck by a military patrol.
Witnesses told Meganews that the military unit, marked with the number 0864323 , ignored the red light and ended up colliding with a low-powered motorcycle.
The woman was left lying on the public road, unable to move on her own two feet.
Paramedics from a private company arrived at the scene minutes after the accident, where they provided her with initial medical attention and then transferred her to a hospital.
His health status was reported as reserved.
Municipal Traffic Officers were tasked with securing the area and initiating the corresponding investigations.
