Claudia Sheinbaum hopes to reach an agreement with Donald Trump to avoid tariffs

MEXICO CITY.— This Tuesday, during her usual press conference known as “ Mañanera del Pueblo ,” the president of Mexico , Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo , expressed her confidence in reaching an agreement with her counterpart from the United States , Donald Trump , on the application of tariffs on Mexican products.
"We have to review everything that President Trump says, that's why I always say that we have to keep a cool head and not take isolated phrases. Obviously, the agreement has to be closed this week, Tuesday is the date we proposed for the end of this suspension period that was agreed upon in that call," he said.

The Mexican president was reacting to Trump's statements on Monday, who said at the White House that "they are on time with the tariffs and it seems that this is moving very quickly."
