Five arrested after shooting in La Merced; one dead

Following a shooting at the La Merced market in Mexico City on Sunday, the Secretariat of Citizen Security ( SSC ) reported that 5 alleged perpetrators were arrested.
One person died on the spot in this confrontation.

According to the capital's agency, the police were conducting patrols in the La Merced area in the Historic Center and in the midst of these, explosions were heard that left one man dead.
Authorities immediately cordoned off the area and began searching for the alleged perpetrators.
According to witnesses, a woman was running with some men who were accused of shooting directly at the now deceased in the Historic Center area.

Four men and one woman were arrested. They were found to be carrying a short firearm, a magazine with four live rounds and a dose of apparent drugs.
Following the events in La Merced, the detainees were taken to the Public Prosecutor's Office to determine their legal situation.
