Habemus tells: Pope Leo XIV is already in X, debuting on social media

Pope Leo XIV has officially opened his account on the social network X (formerly Twitter), taking a new step in his digital presence. The first message was published on Tuesday, May 13, a few days after activating his Instagram account.

For his first post on X, the pontiff chose the same words with which he addressed the faithful for the first time on May 8 from the Central Loggia of St. Peter's Basilica , when he was presented as the 267th Successor of Peter:

Sources from the Dicastery for Communication indicated that the Pope's presence on social networks " is not just a tool, but a bridge for dialogue and listening with the contemporary world."

The X account joins the platforms already used by the Vatican, and is expected to be an active channel for sharing messages of peace, spiritual reflections and calls for unity.
