Investigation into rape of a young woman by an acquaintance in Vallecas

At the time of going to press, the National Police were awaiting a report from a young woman who claimed to have been the victim of a sexual assault early yesterday morning in Puente de Vallecas.

The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Friday. According to the victim, a 23-year-old woman, she had gone out partying with a group of people. Another day of partying took place, alternating between trendy clubs, and when the clubs closed, they decided to go their separate ways. In the end, while they were saying goodbye at their homes, the woman and another young man remained. According to what she told the first responding officers, when they were alone on the street, the man forced himself on her and sexually assaulted her. The man then left, leaving her to her fate.

The incident occurred near Sierra de la Sagra Street, near San Diego Avenue. Paramedics took her to a hospital to undergo protocol for victims of sexual violence. She was unable to tell the officers the address of the alleged attacker, whom she said was merely "an acquaintance."

Separately, at 2:30 a.m. that same morning yesterday, a man was stabbed in what appears to be an attempted robbery, police sources told ABC. The incident occurred as he was walking near number 8 Ariza Street, in the Aluche area (Latina).

The man was treated by Samur-Civil Protection for a stab wound to the back, in the posterior hemithorax. He was released at the scene.
