Javier Milei would announce more than 30 bills in Congress, with key absences in the opposition

President Javier Milei is expected to finish on Thursday the speech he will give on Saturday night at the opening of ordinary sessions of Congress . He is expected to announce more than 30 bills , according to sources from the Casa Rosada .
These initiatives will not be mega-projects, as the Bases law was at the time, but will focus on "specific and important issues for the administration," according to official sources. The president plans a presentation of approximately 45 minutes, in which he will read around 40 pages.
Following the results that his government highlights in terms of fiscal balance , inflation and economic activity , Javier Milei will focus on management and not so much on disruptive announcements. However, key points are still being analyzed, such as the possibility of a new call for national unity .
Last year, in his first speech before Congress, Milei called on the governors to sign the Pact of May 25 , in addition to listing the legacy received and the measures adopted by his government.
The Executive Branch has extended invitations to various special guests. In particular, some 70 ambassadors will attend the event, for which two boxes have been allocated to them in the venue.
José Mayans, president of the Unión por la Patria bloc, justified the decision by claiming that the president "treats us very badly, he lies and we already know what has happened in one year of government." This means that 34 senators will not occupy their usual seats, which could generate a visible void in the area designated for stenographers. To disguise this situation, the spaces could be occupied by legislators from the libertarian and PRO blocs.
On the other hand, the Union for the Fatherland bloc of deputies , made up of 98 legislators , has not yet defined its final position. Within the space, there are divisions: some deputies plan to be absent, others seek to send a reduced representation and some consider attending in full. A source from the bloc assured that "there is still time" to decide, but acknowledged that the internal position is fragmented.
Meanwhile, the left is also evaluating its participation, and the Democracia para Siempre and Encuentro Federal blocks could join the absences. In parallel, in sectors of the PRO there was unrest over the recent appointment by decree of Ariel Lijo as a member of the Supreme Court .
Given this scenario, Javier Milei's speech will be marked not only by his announcements, but also by the number of empty seats in the room.
