Khaby Lame, the most-followed content creator on TikTok, was arrested in Nevada by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). His official departure from the United States has now been announced.

According to reports spread on the social network X, the influencer of Senegalese origin and Italian nationality was arrested for allegedly exceeding the time allowed by his visa and for alleged tax evasion.

According to The Guardian , Khaby Lame has already left the United States after being detained by immigration officials. Because he overstayed his life sentence, he also faced President Donald Trump's harsh immigration measures.

Immigration authorities reported the influencer's departure, as he decided to leave voluntarily to avoid a deportation order , which would prevent him from re-entering the United States. So far, Khaby Lameno has not made a public statement regarding his expulsion.

Political activist Bo Loudon reportedly reported Lame's immigration status and the case to authorities. "I discovered he was undocumented (...) And I personally took steps to have him deported," he said.

Last Friday, June 6, the Senegalese-born, Italian-born influencer was detained at a Las Vegas airport. Department of Homeland Security records indicated he was being held at the Henderson, Nevada, detention center. Although he was released the same day, Khaby Lame proceeded to leave the country.

Khaby Lame, whose real name is Serigne Khabane Lame, was born in Senegal in 2000 and moved to Italy as a child. He obtained Italian citizenship in 2022. Furthermore, his high international profile, reinforced by his role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, could influence the outcome of the case.
