Lenin Canchola, leader of 'Los Malcriados 3AD', receives 50 years in prison.

A trial court has sentenced Lenin Jonathan Canchola Martínez , identified as the leader of the criminal group " Los Malcriados 3AD ", to 50 years in prison for the crimes of aggravated kidnapping and criminal association.
The structure of one of the most violent criminal groups operating in western Mexico City has received a decisive blow. Lenin Canchola, known by the aliases "El Carnal" or "El General," was sentenced to half a century in prison, culminating a lengthy judicial process that permanently removes him from circulation.
The sentence, handed down by a trial court, also imposes a fine of 347,520 pesos and moral damages of 25,820 pesos for psychological treatment of the victims. In addition, his political rights have been suspended.
The sentence stems from an aggravated kidnapping case that occurred in 2022, which the victims reported directly. The sentencing was conducted virtually, with Canchola appearing online from a maximum-security prison in Nayarit, due to his high-risk profile.
"Los Malcriados 3AD," the group he led, was known for its extreme violence and territorial control in the western part of the capital. His criminal activities included:
* Kidnapping and extortion.
* Homicide and drug dealing.
* Dispossession of real estate.
The group imposed its law through terror, even committing executions to maintain control of its areas of operation.
Lenin Canchola was no minor criminal. His criminal career spanned several years, consolidating significant power in the capital. His group, "Los Malcriados 3AD" (Third Destructive Action), maintained an alliance with the criminal group La Unión Tepito, which allowed them to expand their influence.
Their main sphere of influence encompassed the municipalities of Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, and Tlalpan, although their network extended to other areas of the city. The violence perpetrated by their group generated a climate of fear among residents and business owners in these areas.
After intensive intelligence work by Mexico City and federal authorities, Lenin Canchola was finally captured in July 2022. His arrest did not occur in Mexico City, but in Monterrey, Nuevo León, where he had fled to evade justice.
Since his capture, he has been transferred to maximum-security prisons, first to the Altiplano prison and later to one in Nayarit, where he faced trial. Authorities consider the 50-year prison sentence a fundamental step toward fully dismantling "Los Malcriados 3AD" and pacifying the areas they terrorized.
