Manolo Jiménez and SICT are finalizing the launch of the Saltillo-Monterrey passenger train.

The governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez Salinas , held a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina , and with the director of the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency, Andrés Lajous Loaeza , to review the details of the Saltillo–Monterrey passenger train project.
According to the state leader, during the meeting, technical and logistical aspects of the project, considered strategic for mobility and development in the country's northeast region, were discussed.

"I had an excellent meeting with the head of the SICT, Jesús Esteva, and the head of the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency, Andrés Lajous, with whom we discussed the details for beginning construction of the Saltillo-Monterrey train. Working as a team and with great coordination, we are ready to begin this major project in Coahuila," the Governor stated.
The governor noted that one of the agreements was to open the project's construction to local suppliers, with the goal of allowing Coahuila companies to participate in the work and generate economic benefits for the state.
"We request that this project be opened to local suppliers so that it contributes to the economy, generates a positive return, and benefits our people, in addition to offering a guarantee of quality with our products and labor."
Among the planned complementary works are the construction of vehicular bridges over the train tracks on Nazario Ortiz Garza Boulevard in Saltillo and on Los Pinos Highway in Ramos Arizpe, in addition to other road improvements.
The project is being developed in coordination between the three levels of government, reported Jiménez Salinas, who emphasized that mayors from the Saltillo metropolitan area, as well as the state Citizen Engagement Secretariat, have monitored the progress with federal authorities.
Authorities did not specify a start date for the works, although they reiterated that they are in the planning and coordination phase .
