Mel Gibson rules out William Wallace's appearance in "The Resurrection"

Stirling on the way to Golgotha.- Mel Gibson has rejected the possibility that William Wallace will appear again in his new film The Resurrection .

After the great expectation generated by the new project of the American filmmaker and actor, he has clarified that the Scottish hero will not participate in the sequel to The Passion of the Christ .

William Wallace could rise to continue his fight

“There were people who suggested it to me, and even said, 'What if we put Wallace in as a spirit shouting Freedom when Jesus comes out of the tomb?' But we decided not to mix universes… yet,” Gibson told a pro-Welsh independence outlet.

The rumors began when some fans noticed that the first images of the new project featured a bearded, shirtless figure with blue face paint, standing high in what appeared to be the Highlands. This even sparked the creation of the hashtag #WallaceIsRisen and theorization of a possible "Gibsonverse."

Mel Gibson revealed that in The Resurrection of Christ he will show the origin of the battle in heaven when God expels Lucifer

“It’s an acid trip,” he said.

"I do believe that Wallace, had he wanted, could have resurrected himself, but there's a reason he didn't," Gibson added objectively, who for now will focus on the resurrection of Jesus, leaving the "liberator of Scotland" to rest in peace.

Despite the emphatic denial from The Patriot director, many still hold out hope that Wallace will appear in a post-credits scene, perhaps leading the Scottish martyrs on the fields of Falkirk against the crooked-toothed invaders.

Whether you are a believer or not, or of another religion, this scene is exciting.

We suffer and are depressed because of what Jesus endured, but this moment takes all that away and makes you feel victorious and hopeful. Mel Gibson nailed this ending.

And in case you missed it: Ari Gameplays released a new song… and it's worse than the first.
