"We are doing our part to reduce the insecurity rates and high-impact crimes in our country linked to drug trafficking and production," the president said.
He said that the majority of fentanyl consumption is in the United States, so it is necessary to analyze which cartels operate in the United States.
Unity in the fightClaudia Sheinbaum added that " we must coordinate among the three countries, we are finding out where it comes from, where it enters, how it is distributed and that will give us a lot of information so that each person in their country can act."
“By Friday we would need to be reaching important agreements; I would be, if necessary, looking for another phone call with President Trump, whatever it takes to reach an agreement.”
During his press conference, he recalled that “we have had three phone calls, two before he assumed the Presidency as President-elect and the last one we had as President, in the White House, constitutional.”
“In the second call we talked about fentanyl trafficking ; in the third one as well, but in the second one he made this admission that I proposed the campaign we are doing against fentanyl consumption,” the President emphasized.

This Monday, 24 HORAS published that during Sheinbaum's six-year term, the federal government has seized more than 1,267,000 fentanyl pills, which according to consulted specialists is due to greater participation of the Armed Forces in operations and random inspections... As well as a message for the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
“The seizures are messages, yes, they are a message. They seek to relieve the pressure coming from Trump, in addition to countering the view that Mexico 'is not doing its job', with regard to the fight against fentanyl. And to demonstrate that we have the capacity to do it ourselves,” said Dr. Fernando Jiménez, a specialist in security and terrorism.
