Miguel Uribe's wife shares heartbreaking message: 'He needs a miracle'

The senator known as Miguel Uribe Turbay and his family are going through a time of great uncertainty as the medical battle to save his life continues. After being attacked last Saturday, he continues to receive treatment at the Santa Fe Foundation in Bogotá. His wife, María Claudia Tarazona , has shared a new and emotional message with the public.

On the morning of Monday, June 9, Tarazona posted a photo on her Instagram profile showing two hands intertwined, along with a text full of faith and hope:

I beg you with all my heart to continue praying. Miguel needs a miracle .

On Sunday, Tarazona had already issued an initial appeal to the public, expressing her gratitude for the "outpouring of solidarity" she had received and asking for prayers for her husband's life to be intensified.

"Miguel continues to fight intensely for his life, and I ask all of you to persevere in constant prayer, to not be discouraged, and to remain united in prayer," he told the media outside the clinic.

In another post shared on social media, a personal photo of the senator with his children was featured. The accompanying message expresses the profoundness of the family moment:

“The love we share gives me stability, and the family we've created together is my greatest source of strength. Today you are facing a tough battle for your life. The affection of Alejandro, our daughters, and my own is the bond that keeps you connected to life. Keep fighting for your life, my love, while I take care of our children.”

Uribe Turbay, 39, remains in "extremely serious" condition after being wounded by two gunshots at a political rally in the Modelia neighborhood, west of Bogotá. He has undergone two surgeries , one of which was on his head, and is currently in the intensive care unit with a reserved prognosis , according to the medical report provided by the Santa Fe Foundation.

The incident occurred while the senator, a member of the Democratic Center party, was speaking to his supporters at a public event. The alleged perpetrator, a 15-year-old boy, was arrested on-site carrying a Glock pistol.
