Minnesota under threat? Plan discovered with 70 potential victims in political shooting

On June 14, 2025, a shooting rocked Minnesota when two state legislators were attacked at their homes in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, north of Minneapolis. According to CNN , the shooter targeted 70 people for the violent attack.

US President Donald Trump expressed his condolences and strongly condemned the violence that claimed lives and injured elected officials.

“Authorities found a hit list in the Minnesota suspect's car containing nearly 70 names , a law enforcement official told CNN ,” the US news network reported about the initial investigation.

The list, which included more people involved in the violent attacks, sparked controversy and concern among internet users, reflecting the country's political instability. Among the potential victims were more officials and pro-abortion activists.

“The names included abortion providers, abortion rights advocates, and legislators from Minnesota and other states ,” the official added, the report concludes.

State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed in the attack. Hortman, an attorney and former speaker of the state House of Representatives, was survived by two children. Senator John Hoffman and his wife were seriously injured and underwent surgery, with favorable prognoses.

Authorities identified a suspect who, dressed in a police uniform , allegedly used his clothing to enter the residences . Although the exact motive was not confirmed, initial investigations suggested possible political motivations behind the attack.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called the attack an act of "political violence." Donald Trump , for his part, announced on social media that he had been notified of the attack and ordered a federal investigation.
