More illegal addiction centers are being investigated in the Tlalpan municipality

Authorities from the Tlalpan municipality admitted that they are unaware of the number of addiction rehabilitation centers operating in the district without the corresponding permits.
This is after a fire broke out on Monday at the Hombres Preparados, Mujeres Preparadas AC rehabilitation center, located in Topilejo, Tlalpan municipality, which was operating irregularly. The result was five people dead and six injured.
A review of the registry of addiction treatment centres, which appears on the website of the Institute for the Care and Prevention of Addictions (IAPA), found that the centre is not listed.
In half an hour, they went from removing furniture to bodies, according to videos from the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing, we could practically say that it was operating in an irregular manner," emphasized officials from the municipality governed by Gabriela Osorio.
They also said they had contacted IAPA officials to review and update the registry of such sites.
We are planning a census to identify these establishments that operate irregularly or, alternatively, of which there is no knowledge," they said.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City said that three of the deceased had already been identified.
The bodies of three young people between 25 and 30 years of age remain at the Institute of Forensic Sciences, where the required autopsy will be performed, and the bodies will later be returned to their families, the agency said.
He added that the alleged person responsible for the place, identified as Juan Enrique "N", 34 years old, was arrested to give his statement.
Meanwhile, authorities said that two of the six people injured yesterday were reported to be in critical condition.
DEADLY HALF AN HOURAt 10:04 p.m., smoke was already being detected from the fire and people were removing various pieces of furniture from the rehabilitation center.
Thirty-two minutes later, bodies are seen being removed from the building, according to images released last night by Nacho Lozano on Imagen Televisión .
The question arises as to whether the deaths and injuries could have been avoided.
