More than 200 passengers, some charred, died in a plane crash: this is the list

An air tragedy struck India on Thursday, June 12 , when an Air India plane crashed minutes after taking off from Ahmedabad airport in the state of Gujarat.
The aircraft, en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, was carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Sadly, there were no survivors .
Devastating scene: charred bodies and smoke at the sceneA graphic video circulating on social media shows the magnitude of the disaster. The images show completely charred bodies scattered on the ground, while rescue teams and military personnel search the rubble without success for survivors.
A severely burned person is seen being lifted onto a stretcher, while a thick column of smoke continues to rise from the scene.
The plane made a direct impact on a residential area and crashed into the dining hall of the BJ Medical College UG hostel in Meghani Nagar , killing at least 20 medical students, according to preliminary reports.
The deceased passengers have been identified.India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed that flight AI171 was carrying 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals and 1 Canadian national , in addition to the two pilots and 10 cabin crew.
