Rita Cetina Scholarship: Until when will the cards be delivered?

The Rita Cetina Universal Scholarship for Basic Education is a social program awarded by the Mexican government to all preschool, primary and secondary school students in public schools.

The objective of this program is to provide financial support of 1,900 pesos to families with children who are in one of these school levels in order to prevent them from dropping out of school and to enable them to finish their studies without setbacks.

During the first stage of the Rita Cetina Scholarship, the funds will be awarded to all secondary school students and registrations for primary and preschool students will be announced later.

When did registration for the Rita Cetina Scholarship begin?

The process for registration for the Rita Cetina Scholarship began on October 14, 2024 with the Informative Assemblies held at public secondary schools, until November 29, 2024,

Subsequently, the online registration process was opened from November 11 to December 18, 2024, through the portal becaritacetina.gob.mx, where parents or guardians created an account to carry out the process.

At the end of the online registration stage, applicants waited for the delivery dates for the Banco del Bienestar cards, where the funds will be deposited to the selected families divided into five two-month periods, within the duration of the current school year.

Delivery of cards for the Rita Cetina Scholarship

The distribution of cards for the Universal Scholarship for Basic Education "Rita Cetina" program began on February 5 and will be valid until March 28, according to information published by the Ministry of Welfare.

The cards will be given to the mothers, fathers or guardians of the registered students, in assemblies organized inside the educational establishments, so the students and parents should be aware of the date on which the "education servants" will visit each one.

It is worth noting that if you were unable to register during the online process, it is not too late. During the card delivery meetings, students who require it will also be able to register in person.

Requirements to receive the Rita Cetina Scholarship

In order for a family to receive the Rita Cetina Scholarship, in this first stage, they must meet the following requirements:

• Have a son or daughter enrolled in a public secondary school with an in-person format.
• Not simultaneously receiving another educational scholarship for the same purpose granted by any agency or entity of the Federal Public Administration.

In addition, you must have the following:

• CURP (of the mother, father or guardian and of the student)
• Cell phone number.
• Email.
• Official identification.
• Proof of address (for the last three months).

Remember that families with two or more students will receive 1,900 pesos every two months per family, plus 700 pesos for each additional student.

The first payment of the Rita Cetina Scholarship will be dispersed during the first days of March, once the delivery of the cards ends on February 28, 2025; however, the authorities have not announced an exact date.
