Still no changes to disability pensions in Durango

Nearly three months after the signing of the agreement between the Federal Government and the Durango State Government for the Welfare Pension for People with Disabilities, which is necessary to extend the eligibility age from 0 to 64, was announced, the agreement has not yet been signed, so the pension remains available only to people aged 0 to 29.
In the state of Coahuila, the signing of the aforementioned agreement, necessary for universal pensions for people with disabilities from ages 0 to 64, has not yet been implemented.
It was during her visit to the community of Bermejillo, in the municipality of Mapimí, Durango, last February that President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced that the signing of the agreement would be activated before the end of the month. That was two and a half months ago.
"A round of applause for the governor of Durango, because now the Pension for the Well-being of People with Disabilities is universal in Durango. Because I'll explain: the Federal Government provides the resource for Support for People with Permanent Disabilities, the Federal Government, the Government of Mexico, we, provide the resource from age 0, if there is a person with a disability from birth, until age 29. And the state governments provide it from age 30 to 64, and then we take care of the Senior Citizen Pension," the President of Mexico explained during that visit.
However, Jonathan Jardines, the entity's Welfare representative, confirmed that the agreement has not been signed, so support remains available only to people with disabilities ages 0 to 29.
The rest of the beneficiaries, who have reached the age of 30 and those who have not reached the age of 65, except for women aged 63 and 64, who can register for the Women's Welfare Pension, They will have to wait until the signature of the agreement happens to receive their support. .
At this time, it is unknown when the signing might take place in Durango, and in the neighboring state of Coahuila, there is also no information on whether the signing of the aforementioned agreement for the Welfare Pension for Persons with Disabilities will actually take place.
According to the Federal Government, the program will provide a bimonthly payment of 3,200 pesos in 2025, directly through deposits to the Banco del Bienestar card issued to beneficiaries. The pension is provided to people with permanent disabilities between the ages of 0 and 64 in 24 states across the country, as their governments have signed universality agreements with the Government of Mexico.
These entities are Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Colima, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Puebla, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.
Work of Servants of the Nation recognizedIn recognition of their performance in various roles, the State Welfare Delegate for the state of Coahuila, Américo Villarreal Santiago, presented vests to a group of National Servants.
Villarreal Santiago explained that with the support of the Ministry of Welfare, vests were distributed as a gesture of gratitude to outstanding public servants for their good performance and social work, taking into account their efforts.
In a meeting with more than twenty of them, delegate Américo Villarreal also urged them to continue working and serving the state's community to achieve the goals set by President Claudia Sheinbaum's administration and invited them to share this message with the rest of the public servants.
In Coahuila, he said, one of the activities currently being carried out by public servants is the House-to-House Health program census, "which has highlighted the importance of the work carried out by the National Servants, who are a leading team at the national level in terms of census coverage, where progress is being made with the commitment to guarantee medical care to those who need it most," he said.
Even so, the rest of the social programs currently active in the Coahuila Welfare Secretariat, he assured, have been positively promoted and continue to grow thanks to the work carried out by the Nation's Servants.
